“The Wanderer” featured on your website is owned by my father Clyde Batts. He also is an OV ICON. When I saw his boat I screamed out at work & almost cried. He still has the boat --docked at Rebel Marine in Willoughby --it will never leave OV. The Wanderer was the 1st & only head boat featured out of the Ocean View fishing pier. It was originally at Harrison’s Pier She was replaced by the Wanderer II (her daughter) when my dad purchased it. To this day, you can still find her cruising OV on beautiful summer days. Now is she is painted black-- she's beautiful & there is not another one like her . . .

New to boating? The floor is usually a deck, unless it's the floor below, in which case it becomes the cabin sole. You may have a galley, salon, berths, and a head (--kitchen, living room, beds, and bathroom). A bulkhead is no longer the cellar, but a partition separating one compartment from another. A wheel may be a propeller or a steering wheel, and an outboard may be a small motor, it's also the direction toward a boat's exterior - or outside of it. Port is the left hand side of a boat (not wine) when facing ahead. Starboard is the right-hand side. Port is red; starboard green. Don't ask for a rope, cord, or wire-- t's all just "line." Yet, the line you use to control your sail is a sheet, & wires supporting the mast are either shrouds (those going to port or starboard) or stays (going forward or aft). Read me?
