Work with children of mild to moderate disabilities; develop, modify and teach general curriculum to meet individual needs. Disabilities include specific learning disabilities, speech and language impairments, orthopedic impairments, fine and gross motor delays, attention deficit disorders, sensory integration difficulties, Cerebral Palsy, et al. Use a variety of techniques and accommodate tests/assignments based on individual strengths and weaknesses. Develop Individualized Education Program (IEP) for each child. Noted for accomplishments as Child Study Committee/CSC Chair (2000 - 2002) and CSC Secretary (1999-2000); Reading Month Chair (2003); also for coordinating on various literacy, reading and SOL remedial programs and councils; implementation of Inclusion program in 1998 involving Special Ed. collaboration. Recognized for key role in improving SOL scores for a greater percentage of students.
