With responsibilities both as Editor and Contributor of Pass In Review (the monthly publication by the Marine Barracks Public Affairs Office) provided strict attention to accuracy, clarity and style, always a primary focus. Utilization of editorial and style references are common practice, in assuring optimum production values. Recognition for excellence in these areas included various awards, early promotions and advanced responsibilities, far exceeding expectations of a junior Marine. As recipient of the Sergeant Major Dan Daley Award, funded by the Marine Corps Association’s Leatherneck magazine for superior writing: emphasis on style and clarity was graciously acknowledged with honors.

Managed all production responsibilities as an Editor and Contributor of Pass In Review with attention to the ever-present deadlines, inherent in the publishing of periodicals; was relied upon to personally carry out all editing responsibilities and assignments without supervision, and often without assistance due to frequent staff changes and special events in this very energetic environment, the hub of the "President’s Own" in Washington, D.C.
